The Climate Champions initiative is a charitable initiative, administered by Clean Economy Fund, with the purpose of facilitating a historic increase in climate philanthropy. Its goal is to triple the amount of climate philanthropy in Canada, from $100M to $300M per year, by 2030.
No single donor can do it alone, but together we can have an unprecedented impact.
Your commitment.
We invite all new philanthropic commitments to climate solutions. To be measured as part of this initiative, we ask that your commitment be:
- New and additional to any ongoing philanthropic commitments to climate solutions
- Targeted in Canada
- Focused primarily on climate mitigation
- Allocated by 2035
- Allocated strategically, particularly in the areas of: (1) Clean Energy & Electrification, (2) Industry & Economy, (3) Cities, (4) People & Democracy, and (5) Policy & Finance
We also note that your commitment:
- Is not legally binding
- May be carried out independently or with the help of any intermediary, including the
Clean Economy Fund - May be communicated publicly by the Clean Economy Fund according to the Climate Champions initiative communications plan, unless you request otherwise
